With A Walk Through the Canvas, Werff Design created a visual installation where visitors do not just watch, but literally walk through it.
Not traditional projection mapping, but an environment fully filled with light, color, and patterns.
Painting with light
The foundation of this project lies in the use of powerful lights with so-called gobos.
By placing slides in front of these lights, patterns and shapes are projected onto the environment. In this case, the choice was made for:
Geometric lines
Strong color contrasts
Overlapping patterns
The result feels like a living painting that you stand inside.
An environment you experience
What makes this installation unique is that you can walk through it.
Visitors are fully surrounded by light and color. From every angle, the visuals change depending on your position and movement.

A notable effect of this project was how people interacted with it.
Almost immediately, there was a strong urge to take photos and videos. The combination of:
