Today I installed a Bamboo Lab A1 3D printer for a friend—complete with software, calibration, and a first test print. As someone who already has extensive experience with 3D printing and works with the Bambu Lab P1S , I was curious to see how the A1 would perform in practice.

The installation went remarkably smoothly. The printer was quickly set up, the software connected without any problems, and the automatic calibration worked perfectly. The first test print was ready in no time, and it looked great right away.

Small, but seriously powerful

The Bamboo Lab A1 is clearly the smaller version of the P1S, but it's practically identical in terms of quality and print speed . It's a compact and well-designed device, ideal for those looking for reliable 3D printing. without complex settings .

What struck me most was the stability during printing. The printer remains surprisingly quiet and delivers a neat layer build, even at higher speeds. That's impressive for a device in this price range.

Personal experience

I continue to be fascinated by how accessible 3D printing technology has become. The process of building, adjusting, and seeing the first print come to life remains magical – even after years of experience with 3D visualization and animation.

I'm curious to see how the A1 holds up over the long term under daily use, but first impressions are more than positive . A solid, user-friendly printer that further expands the creative possibilities for designers and makers.
